About tinybuilder
A creative studio where a child’s idea becomes a real, working app — and where building it teaches them how software works, without a single lesson.
tinybuilder is for children aged 8–11. A child describes what they want to make; the AI asks the questions that help them discover their own idea; a working app appears in front of them, live. It is not a coding tutorial, a gamified learning app, or a child-safe chatbot — it’s a place to make a real thing you’re proud to put your name on.
The goal is independence: the AI is scaffolding that gets out of the way over time, leaving a child a little more capable than they arrived.
The three rules
Teach while building
Every change comes with one plain sentence about what just happened — learning earned in the moment, never a lesson.
Protect fiercely, quietly
Guardrails are part of how it’s built, not warnings a child reads. No real names, locations, or identifying details ever reach the system.
Hold the compass, not the wheel
It’s a building tool. The idea is always the child’s — the AI asks questions and acts only on what the child actually asked for.
